Eldohub is thrilled to unveil our new brand, “Gold for Prosperity, Green for Growth,” a symbol of our unwavering commitment to fostering prosperity and advancement across the African region. This brand embodies our mission to support youth, young women, rural and peri-urban communities, businesses, startups, and the public sector in their journey towards success.

Recognizing the urgent need to expand and scale up our digital solutions, we are dedicated to equipping youth and young women with job-ready skills while assisting businesses and governments in embracing digitization. This creates a vital win-win situation, meeting the demands of businesses and the public sector for digitization services while providing employment opportunities for unemployed youth in the digital sector.

From our humble beginnings as a community-based organization in Uasin Gishu County, Eldohub has grown into a global company with a dedicated team supporting various stakeholders in accessing digital skills, infrastructure, and job opportunities. Our steadfast commitment to strengthening the growth of the African Digital Savannah remains at the core of everything we do.

As Chepkemoi Magdaline eloquently stated during the January Technical Innovation forum, our new brand signifies the expanded scope and vision of Eldohub. We are proud to empower individuals and communities through digitization, job creation, and entrepreneurship, driving positive change and innovation across the region. 

With “Gold for Prosperity, Green for Growth,” we look forward to continuing our journey of impact and transformation.

Sasakazi 

The launch of our Sasakazi (now work) digital platform in 2023 was a transformative moment for Eldohub, amplifying our presence and impact in the digital realm. Through Sasakazi, we’ve successfully onboarded numerous businesses and aspiring professionals, effectively creating a dynamic marketplace for digital skills and job opportunities. This platform serves as a conduit for businesses to tap into digital talent, thereby fostering job creation for young tech professionals while enhancing their own operational capacities.

Beyond merely facilitating job creation, our commitment to digitization extends to driving broader economic growth and prosperity. By embracing digital transformation, businesses can optimize their processes, unlock new avenues for growth and innovation, and ultimately foster an environment conducive to job creation and economic development. Through support for startups and small businesses in navigating the digital landscape, we’re actively contributing to the reduction of youth unemployment and the overall improvement of livelihoods across the region.

In the face of adversities like the COVID-19 pandemic, our digitization initiatives have proven to be invaluable. By enabling businesses to adapt and innovate, we’ve helped safeguard jobs and livelihoods, while also creating new opportunities for youth and young women. Through market expansion and enhanced production processes, businesses have not only survived the challenges posed by the pandemic but have also emerged stronger, contributing to the resilience and growth of our communities.

As we continue to champion digitization and innovation, we remain steadfast in our commitment to empowering individuals and businesses to thrive in the digital age. 

Contributions to E-government 

In addition to our work in the private sector, Eldohub takes great pride in collaborating with governments and the public sector to drive e-government initiatives. A cornerstone of our efforts in this realm is the GovStack building blocks initiative, a flagship program supported by GIZ. Our goal is to achieve comprehensive digitization of government services in counties across the region, with the aim of enhancing service delivery and accessibility.

Over the next five years, Eldohub aims to reach 40 County Governments with improved digital projects through the GovStack initiative. This ambitious endeavor will empower government agencies to leverage digital technologies for more efficient and transparent service delivery.

GovStack harnesses the expertise of digitization professionals both locally and internationally to develop open-source software tailored to the specific needs of government services in the region. As a key partner in this initiative, Eldohub is honored to contribute to the advancement of digital infrastructure and services, ultimately improving the lives of citizens and fostering greater inclusion and efficiency within government operations.

Jobs for Refugees in Kenya 

In 2023, Eldohub embarked on a groundbreaking initiative to create 5000 decent digital jobs for refugees and host communities in Kenya, in collaboration with the ILO PROSPECTS project. This innovative endeavor aims to competitively identify solutions that will generate quality digital job opportunities for refugees and host communities residing in Garissa and Turkana counties.

By harnessing the power of digitization, this initiative seeks to foster economic empowerment and inclusion in marginalized areas, ultimately improving livelihoods and promoting social cohesion. Through strategic partnerships and innovative approaches, Eldohub is committed to driving positive change and innovation, ensuring that the benefits of digitization are accessible to all, regardless of background or circumstance.
